Both fish and fries were hot, crispy, and tasty. Get two pieces if you're hungry or one piece if you're not. Halibut was good. Coleslaw was a little different than i am used to--not sure what to say about it. Service was good.

This fish and chip place is located right near the port and free parking on weekends.
Unfortunately I had to rate this three star because after eating, maybe their tartar sauce and the preparation of the fish just caused both of us heart burns. Our plates were incomplete, corselaw wasn't served.
The place seats a number of customers and it was pretty empty with one other customer there. We ordered the two haddock with chips for 14.95$ and the special pickerel with chip for 15.95$. At no additional charge the chips were switched with onion rings, though smaller portion. I finished the full batter,, person I was with started separating it after halfway through but it was too late he already at half the batter fish.
The fry on the fish was not overdone. The fish were lightly seasoned so not overdone. The batter was a commercial mix, you can taste the salt and sugar and preservative. Likely impacted by the oil temperature, we found the batter was a sponge to the oil resulting in a really hard texture for fry batter that was soaked in a lot of oil.
The fries were either a few days old or double fried to reheat and the onion rings were premade (saw it pulled out of the freezer). The tartar sauce was homemade with a hint of vinegar or lemon juice.
Reasons we got heartburn was the excess oil in batter from the fry done on oil too low in temp setting.
Washrooms are located one male and one female. There no lock on door so be prepared to block the door if some tries entering. There was no soap in ladies so had to go to mens washroom to wash hand. I advised owner on exit.
I might give this another try and maybe try their non- fish and chips or ask them to fry at a preferred oil temperature or ask for a light batter (franchise Caz has batter options). Would like to update my review on a better experience. -
